Bethe Correia trying to pick fight with Miesha Tate in lieu of Ronda Rousey rematch

If Bethe Correia wants another crack at Ronda Rousey, then beating Miesha Tate would go a long way in helping her case.

Tate expressed extreme disappointment on Friday when Holly Holm was announced as the next challenger for Rousey. Understandably so, as Tate has won four consecutive fights since last losing to Rousey in 2013 (Tate and Rousey also fought in 2012, with the champ winning via first-round armbar).
However, the trilogy was put on hold and Tate is without an opponent, after being all but

But in a recent interview with MMAFighting.com, Correia herself is hoping to play matchmaker and take on Tate herself.
"I really want to fight Tate because we have something unfinished for a long time," Correia said. "I hate Ronda, and after her the one I dislike the most is Tate. I have unfinished things with her."
Correia doesn’t really explain these ‘things’ she speaks of, but who really cares, right? This is the fight game and someone is looking for a fight.
One thing “The Pitbull” apparently did not appreciate was an old social media post from back in February, where Tate called her out after a win over Sara McMann at UFC 183.
"She mocked me when I lost because she thought she would be fighting Ronda, so I wouldn’t miss an opportunity to mock her back," Correia said. "She called me rookie, but always wanted to fight me, campaigned on Twitter in the past. Who wants to fight a rookie? It would be terrible to get beat up by a rookie."
Even if you’re sick and tired of Correia’s endless callouts, you have to admire her determination to return to the cage so quickly after being knocked out by Rousey in just 34 seconds.
So, the idea of Correia vs. Tate, when all things are considered, isn't that bad.
The numbers for the UFC 190 pay-per-view, although unofficial, are said to be reaching the coveted 1 million buy rate – which, in itself is astounding. So, with that in mind, why not book Correia in a fight with Tate. She just had an incredible amount of attention thrown her way against Rousey, and her stock may never be higher.
She’s proven that she can sell a fight, because the odds certainly didn’t warrant interest in UFC 190. And outside of Rousey, Tate is likely the most recognizable face in women’s MMA.

The UFC has been known to grant fighters their wish if they make a loud enough racket, and it appears that Correia is trying to do just that.
